Craft-y Hour!

Last Class of the Winter Season!

3/14 | 11:30am-1pm | Free!

Join Clara (our resident ceramicist and Emma’s sister) for our latest offering… Craft-y Hour! This gathering welcomes you to hang out with other craft-minded (or craft-curious) people.

Bring your own crochet project, sketchbook, or other activity. Perhaps you’d just like to puzzle or journal! In addition to ceramic work, Clara is a very adept knitter. She will bring some learn-to-knit kits for purchase if you’d like to learn how to knit a cowl. These kits will be $30 each. Stuck on your own tricky knitting pattern? Clara can help with that too!

Bring a friend! Go to the Wine 101 tasting next door from 1-3pm! Here’s an easy way to get out of your house this winter and flex your creative muscles! Free to attend, pre-registry appreciated.

Raise Your Voice! A Breathwork and Vocal Toning Workshop

Sunday, March 15th | 5:00-7:00pm | At HUM

$35 for HUM members $40 for non-members

The people of Minneapolis are collectively enduring unrelenting stress due to the uninvited federal occupation “Operation Metro Surge.” The unjust actions at the hands of the federal government affect ALL of us, yet some are affected more drastically than others. With that in mind, a portion of the proceeds collected for Raise Your Voice Breathwork will be forwarded directly to mutual aid for those most heavily impacted by the occupation.

Connect in community to tend the nervous system collectively through breath and sound - using your own instrument - the voice!

During this 2-hour workshop, you can expect to be welcomed in community. We will begin with grounding and connection. We will move through introductory breathwork and vocal toning practices together. We will then experience a 30-minute guided breathwork meditation that incorporates vocal toning cues, facilitated by Shannon Schueler. We will finish with a period of guided rest to integrate the practice and have time for questions and sharing after closing the breathwork and vocal toning practice experience.

Whether you are brand new to breathwork, have years of experience, or fall anywhere in between, this workshop is for you!

Space is limited to 14 people, so please register in advance in order to reserve your spot.

Our events are thoughtfully prepared and led by passionate facilitators. To respect their time and commitment, tickets are non-refundable.

Shannon Schueler is a registered nurse, a board-certified holistic nurse, and a certified professional breathwork practitioner. Shannon is a faculty member of the Breath Liberation Society breathwork facilitator training – a group that is radically inclusive, diverse, trauma-informed and committed to cultivating liberation and transformation through the breath. Shannon has a passion for supporting people in their own holistic healing, using breathwork and energy work as critical approaches. Shannon believes that everyone deserves access to healing practices that feel safe and effective for them. Shannon works professionally as a nurse coach in a large urban school district.

Happy Hips: Functional Movement, Release, and Stretch

Sunday, April 26th | 5:30-7:00pm

$35 for HUM members and $40 for non-members

Join Ashley Vasas in this workshop to get to know your hips! Your hips do far more than “open.” They stabilize, generate power, and adapt to everything from walking and sitting to squatting and balancing. In this 90-minute session, we’ll explore your hips through direct experience, gently challenging the long-standing yoga myth that more openness is always better.

Using a combination of functional movement, yoga postures, and targeted deep-tissue release with therapy balls, you’ll explore your hips in ways that support strength, mobility, and day-to-day comfort. We’ll move with curiosity, experiencing yoga asana as a natural expression of what your body is capable of, moment by moment. We’ll close in savasana, giving your nervous system time to settle and your body space to absorb the work, so you leave feeling grounded, spacious, and reset.

This experience is great for yogis, desk dwellers, and anyone curious about how their hips work.

Space is limited to 15 people, so please register in advance to reserve your spot. All levels are welcome.

Our events are thoughtfully prepared and led by passionate facilitators. To respect their time and commitment, tickets are non-refundable.

We’re always looking for ways to collaborate with our community. Fill out the form below to share your workshop or event idea and learn more about partnering with HUM!
